Glad to see that Clair Obscure: Expedition 33 is getting such great reviews. That initial reveal video really piqued my interest in a way that many modern RPGs fail to do. I don’t think I’ve even played one since the magnificent Dragon Quest XI, but I’ll be finding time for this. At some point.

A few years ago when I was troublingly deep into Elite Dangerous (flight stick, throttle, the lot) I used an EQ to make it sound like Spotify was playing in my ship's cockpit, and had this moment where a song perfectly synced up with a hyperspace jump.

Absolutely love the ethos behind this new games podcast. Short, focused episodes packed full of heart. Looking forward to hearing how this develops. First couple of episodes already great!

I was already very eager to play Blue Prince, but these reviews and early impressions mean that Thursday simply can’t arrive quickly enough. Beyond excited.

Incredibly late to the party here as ever, but the sheer number of new bits and pieces that get thrown into the mix in Dave the Diver is just astonishing. And the crossovers with other games? So good. A near full version of Balatro inside this other video game you’re loving? Yeah, go on then.

I’ve been absolutely spoiled for great puzzle games so far this year: Lorelei and the Laser Eyes The Case of the Golden Idol Botany Manor The Operator Had a great time with all of them, but Lorelei in particular was really special. I’ve got Cocoon and Return of the Obra on the horizon too.

Some goal by Shilow, that. I’m sure they’ll come for us second half. But if we’re clinical there will surely be opportunities to pick them off. #crewealex

I’ve been playing Lempo on Twitch recently. It’s a Finnish psychological horror, and in many ways it’s a frustrating and generally unremarkable thing. But every now and again it has a section where I feel the need to scribble stuff down in a notebook and ponder over a puzzle. Those bits? The best.

Ooh! Issue 4 of @apwot.bsky.social has just arrived, and it’s as beautiful as I’ve come to expect. Looking forward to digging in properly.
