Another nice thing from my Japan trip 20 years ago is this little magnifier and strip of film from the Ghibli museum. The strips were 1000¥ each and have a few frames from a movie on them.

Just found this retro Gradius phone strap thing that I bought at Tokyo Game Show in 2004. The strap, which I haven't yet got around to opening, is now older than Gradius was when I bought it.

Picked up Super Robot Wars 30 in the Steam sale. Never played the series before, but I'm already loving the over the top attack animations.

Okay, Pokémon TCG Pocket, it's nice art and all but I didn't really need four of these Digletts. A different rare would be good now.

Pokémon TCG Pocket has some nice cards, and I mostly like how they've streamlined the game. It's doing that typical mobile thing of throwing loads of stuff at you early on, then drip feeding stuff after that, though. Plus there are like 10 different currencies, which seems excessive.

I forgot that, actually, this is my voice acting debut as I'm one of the voices in a group of Sontarans shouting "Sontar, ha!" Also, this means I now have a Kevin Bacon number of 2: I was in this with Karen Gillan, who was in The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special with Kevin Bacon.

What better way to celebrate November 5th than watching a complete play through of Doctor Who: The Gunpowder Plot? It has Sontarans, Rutans and the guy from Parklife. Also, I met my wife working on it (I was lead coder and she was an animator). #doctorwho youtu.be/HO95-3OrUhI?...

I probably should have signed out of my personal Steam account on my work PC while I was working on Human Fall Flat. It's going to be my most-played Steam game for the rest of my life now. #gamedev

One of my favourite stories like this was on a C64 game which kept resetting the coder's computer when there was a lot going on on-screen. It turned out the joystick lead was wrapped around the power lead and when he got excited playing the game he'd pull it and briefly disconnect the power.

What got you into #gamedev? As a hobby: SEUCK, Garry Kitchen's Game maker, Graphic Adventure Creator and AMOS. As a job: I was bored on my MSc and applied for a programmer job at Gremlin to see what would happen. Somehow, they gave me a job.

Post a random game in your collection, here on Saturday. This is Tokyo Bus Guide for the Dreamcast. A game where, unsurprisingly, you drive a bus around Tokyo. Basically Densha de Go but buses. I think this was a limited edition as it's on two disks, but I can't remember what the extras were.

For post a random game from your collection Saturday, here's Under Defeat. Can't remember much about this other than it being a vertical shooter that was a pretty late Dreamcast release. Comes with a soundtrack CD and sticker, apparently.

In retrospect, selling my Game Boy and games to buy a Lynx with Batman Returns was a mistake.

Randomly opened Pilot Quest as my first game on #UFO50 and now my life is just waiting for these numbers to get bigger. I really like the combination of an idle game and Zelda, though.

I worked on this - it was shaping up nicely, but then Core imploded a bit after Angel of Darkness. A load of us then went on to form Circle Studio and make Without Warning, a game described by Edge Magazine as "a work of stultifying incompetence that seems to hate its own players" 😀 #gamedev

Found some PS1 source assets from Gremlin. Just having a look at a character model from, I think, Actua Tennis. This is the biggest texture on the whole model at a massive resolution of 32x64. Kids these days with their 4096x4096 textures for every fingernail... #gamedev #oldmanyellsatcloud
