Please tap this link ASAP. This is a huge deal to me. I live in a coach house (picture not mine, but similar) that is needlessly illegal to build now. It fits my 3 roommates and I for a reasonable price in a walkable neighborhood. It’s great, but OUTLAWED! These bills would fix that statewide.

Lakeview is one of Chicago’s densest neighborhoods. But it still has too many blocks where it is illegal to build anything other than a detached single family home. See those bright green areas on the west side? That’s where new apartment buildings are banned.

This is a great idea. Illinois needs fewer governments. Why, you ask? Because we have SO MANY that there is no precise way to count them. The more governments, the harder it is to for the public to pay attention. And without robust oversight, we’ll never rein in corruption.
