Few highlights from a misty, drizzly Loch Ryan included 4 Knot and a skein of c30 Pink-footed Geese over at Bishop Burn. Eider numbers are up with at least 70 off Cairnryan along with a couple of Black Guillemot and Red-throated Diver. #birdingScotland #birds #UKWildlife @dgbirdnews.bsky.social

After a few false starts this has finally been published. A two year love affair with a Galloway glen and an introduction to the wildlife that lives here. From the elusive Red Grouse of the high tops to the swarms of Common Scoter out in the Solway. And everything in between.

Common Rosefinch still at Rascarrel this morning. It has a split ring on the right leg. I wonder if it has been ringed further north in Scotland earlier this autumn? If anyone knows of a ringed bird I‘d be interested to hear. It’s a juvenile so unlikely to be an escapee. @dgbirdnews.bsky.social
