If Detroit wants to convince the PWHL that we deserve a team, we need to convince Michigan and Michigan State (at least) that we also need D-1 women's hockey in the state. It is ridiculous that Michiganders like Megan Keller and Elle Hartje most go to New England to play college hockey.

The PWHL Takeover game is at LCA tomorrow, so some of the players are holding a youth clinic at the Red Wings practice facility. In this case, though, the kids are the Polar Bears 60-plus senior women's team.

Scary moment on my way home from the Wings game. I was already in our neighborhood, where the speed limit is 30 mph, when I hear a horn behind me. I look at the rear-view mirror and there is a massive pickup gaining on me at incredible speed. He had to be going 60-70 on a 2-lane neighborhood road.

NEW CAT UPDATE: The three kittens have a roommate - there appears to be a possum also living in the garage. You also be happy to learn that, even though Mom has moved on, Dad has stopped by to check on them. (Fred is a neighborhood cat that spends a lot of time outdoors, but has a home.)

One interesting thing about the end of the WBC final - the way the players reacted to the final out. Usually, everyone immediately sprints to the mound for a celebration, but almost every Venezuelan player dropped to his knees.

CAT UPDATE: After a few days of using our backyard cam to spy on the feral cats (and starting to feed them), we now believe the mother is gone and it is just the three six-month-old kittens who are living on their own.

I understand why people are annoyed with Tarik Skubal for not pitching this game, but I don't get why they are upset that he's in the dugout. He's part of the team - not being there would mean he was just using them to get some spring-training innings.

We have (at least) four cats living in our garage - a mother and her three kittens. The kittens are about six months old. We very much want to get them fixed, even if it is too late for them to be adopted, but how do we trap four cats? If we do one at a time, will they move to a new home?
