I made the mistake of posting again yesterday.

As a professional dog trainer, that's actually the worst thing they can do. Movement is key. Teaching the dog that being around other dogs is no big deal, is what they should be doing. Allowing the dog to fixate and stress itself out will never be the solution.

Pet peeve of mine is when people with reactive dogs stop cold and try to train it out of them on my dime, making a big production out of it instead of just moving along. Trust me these interactions are over much faster if you don’t just let your dog stand there threatening mine.
