We made it to Kumru on a beautiful but chilly night under the full moon. Missed the sound of halyards clanking against masts. Captain Pseudo has already claimed his spot. The boat is in great condition. A little bit of salt here and there but no water, no mold, no stench. The deck is a mess though.

the figure is striking as it's presented but the noncomparability of these estimates is troubling, from different calculations to averaging over different time periods... i don't like when scientific conclusions are presented in an "ends justify the means" fashion to serve a preordained agenda.

academics will call colleagues who actively seek out positions of power & prestige and/or who confidently claim to have epistemic authority over something 'brilliant,' than those who actually are but without an ambition for power, prestige, or fame. best to ignore descriptives and read their work.
