Saw the new TRON movie and I give it a big thumbs up. I’d been cautiously optimistic after seeing early trailers and there’s parts of the movie that I had to suspend my disbelief over, but it’s enjoyable and I found myself actually exhilarated as it continued. I’m gonna see it again in theaters. :)

I have now arrived in Minneapolis after about 1700 miles of driving over about 25 hours spread across just two days. While I think it’s awesome that this kind of endurance driving opens up damn near the entire United States to be my “back yard” I think 13+ hours in one day is pushing my limit.

Managed to get another one finished now. Megaplex is almost over and sleep awaits meeee….

Just finished this one here at Megaplex 2025.

51 years old today and I got to spend it at the Megaplex convention talking to a bunch of people who love cartoons and talking animals and who shared effusive compliments about my artwork and bought my stuff. Now I’m about to eat deep dish pizza and I have to say: what a great way to spend the day.

It’s day one of the Furrydelphia convention! It’s also week two of four consecutive back-to-back weeks of convention travel, and I’m both charged up and a little dazed at the prospect. If you see me this weekend or the other upcoming events come on by and keep me company, yeah?

Currently driving through Lancaster, PA, and on the side of the road I see an adult and child dressed in Amish clothing both of whom are utilizing a leaf blower.? I didn’t think that was something the Amish were permitted to use.

The root canal is finished. The doctor was amazing and I’m very grateful. My mouth is coming out of the numbing work and things are looking good more or less. I’ll type more when I get the chance. Driving back across the border to the US now.

I’ve been to 45 of these because I *love* traveling and road tripping. That and I’m blessed / cursed to never live anywhere in my life for more than 6 years.

This wonderful moment was part of my last visit with Tugrik back in March. Helping him get rid of a busted couch that needed to be moved from the top floor to the garbage hauling trailer below.

Oh man,Tugrik. What an astounding person and a tremendous loss. I loved visiting with him and talking about cameras, printers, electric cars, solar power, and much more. I was so pleased to see him the past couple years and enjoyed the hell out of his company.Truly someone who made my life better.

I am in Los Angeles now. Just arrived after helping pack Tracy and Sam’s things up in Vancouver. It’s going to be nice spending some time in LA but it’s also not going to be a break. So much happening in the next week including… a root canal. As if I didn’t have enough things already to deal with.

I had drawn this because my daughter loves Marie. Then I showed it to her and she was all “ummmm, actually, Marie’s bow is on the *back* of her neck.” :/

I remain steadfast in my love of walking through Vancouver but I’ve discovered that walking 10+ miles for multiple consecutive days is playing hell with my knees. :( I can walk uphill alright but descending is painful. Ughgggjgjf…….

I can’t say enough how much I love visiting Vancouver and walking around the city. I’ve never walked so much in my life because I’ve never had so much interest in the place I was walking through. I’m going to miss this place immensely after departing next week.

Amongst other things I’ve been able to get finished here are a couple more entries into the random adventures of Powder & Sparx.

I forgot to make a scan of the finished picture back when I competed it a couple years ago but I was able to see (and photograph) it at Anthrocon this year.

Amidst the difficulties life has thrown at me there are some truly wonderful bright spots going on, and I have to share how proud I am of my daughter as she graduated high school last night. It’s been such a delight to watch her learn and grow over the years. She’s awesome and I love her so much!

I need to share the most amazing Fathers Day gift I could have possibly imagined. My daughter made this and I’m choking up with how happy it makes me.
