#6 The Jews, An Indigenous People, by Ben Freeman is another example of a massive book where there were ancient Middle Eastern Jews.... Then (apparently) only European Jews.

Books about Jews that Exclude Jews #5 Another massive tome, full of essays and scholarship but nothing about the communities of Ethiopia, The Maghreb, and India / Pakistan.

#4 Slightly better than Simon Schama is this effort by Paul Johnson who gives 2 pages to the Jews of India, in a book of Jewish history that is around 1000pp And he *almost* mentions the Jews of China....but gives up halfway through, ..but again, all through a European lens. #jewishdiversity
