i am working on building out a high-ish resolution surface map for my bear game. the idea is to use this for things like object placement and navigation, stuff that needs to be higher precision than the tiles themselves

now that i have the actual tiles working ok i am putting objects into the world for my bear game. too many trees!

Now that I have world generation kind of working the way that I want I have abstracted a bunch of data to json so that I can iterate on things faster. Each tile in my grid is placed based on some parameters (currently just simplex noise) and I can easily add new types or change existing ones.

after a bit of a break i am trying to motivate myself to work on my bear game again. wow it is beautiful

Working on my little bear game. I added some more flavors of tile to test my tiling stuff, it all works pretty ok except this is placeholder art and so the transitions are sometimes weird. Next i will add streams, trees, rocks, etc. But first i will go to Hawaii with my family for a little while.
