We finish our #vicsocagm with our last but one visit - the chapel at Harris Manchester. The glory of the college is the late Burne-Jones stained glass by Morris & Co (1895-6). It is the only room in Oxford to be lit entirely by their glass. 🧵

Day 3, our last day of our #VicSocAgm weekend. We are at Exeter College - with little medieval and Tudor architecture left - it has much to interest us. We are here primarily to see the chapel and the library. G G Scott was appointed and the chapel was built in 1856-9.

Pusey House opened in 1884 as a memorial to Edward Bouverie Pusey (1800-1882), Regius Professor of Hebrew & Canon of Christ Church, who was for 40 years a figurehead of the Oxford Movement. #VicSocAGM

Our first visit of Day two of our #vicsocagm. The Oxford Oratory Church of St Aloysius Gonzaga (or Oxford Oratory for short) is the Catholic parish church for the centre of Oxford, England.

Today across England & Wales our members and trustees are setting off to the #VicSocAgm in Oxford. Here's a typical Victorian station – the start of a journey today. It opened in 1858 as North Camp, Aldershot, named for the famous military camp in the area which opened 3 years before the station.

Tomorrow the Vic Soc is on the way to Oxford for our AGM Weekend, from the 5 - 7 September. Based at Keble College our members will enjoy expert guided tours, walks, talks, meals in college halls and good company. We will be celebrating the Society's work over the last year. #VicSocAgm

The Society is delighted to see that the first conservation project to appear on the prestigious RIBA Stirling Prize for Architecture shortlist is the Elizabeth Tower at the Houses of Parliament. It is one of the most iconic buildings in the world. #heritage

The Society recently applied to get 79 Maidstone Road, a substantial Victorian building, added to the statutory list of nationally significant buildings. The former house (and later school), was to be converted into flats, with a supermarket to be built in its grounds. 🧵 #Victorianhouse
