These things take time! The idea for ZENITH initially came from a dream @tafrey.bsky.social had in 2014, but the characters and world weren't truly fleshed out until he began the pilot's production in late 2017/early 2018. These were the first sketches of Aya and Zed from back then to now!

Happy #IndieAnimationDay, everyone! We're ZENITH, a show about a girl trying to reach a floating island in the sky to fulfill her dream of challenging the strongest person in the world for their title: The King of Kings! Here's some info about our pilot🧵⤵️

'ZENITH' is an action-adventure, shonen-style indie series inspired by stories like Dragon Ball, Naruto, and The Legend of Zelda. The world has elements of fantasy and sci-fi sprinkled with African culture and mythology throughout.

The story follows Aya and Zed. Aya is a 16-year-old warrior princess from the fantastic land of Nadir. She's an energetic fighter whose passionate yet impulsive nature sometimes lands her in trouble. When she's banished for her ideals, all hope for her dreams seems lost until she meets...

...Our second protagonist, Zed. A 17-year-old tech wiz from the sky island Zenith. Considered a young genius amongst his peers, Zed has never encountered an equation he couldn't solve. But is surviving in a world filled with monstrous animals and giants too much for him to handle?

Our pilot focuses on our dynamic duo meeting each other for the first time. It's going to be a wild ride filled with awesome battles, dramatic twists, and a lot of heart. Hope you look forward to its release!
