Seed starting time! Probably the first time in recent memory that I actually started the first batch on time. Missed onions this year, but will order sets (have never been able to get them to go from seed anyway).

It’s freakin cold here in Virginia, and that means daily trips to thaw out the waterers for the cow, goats, and chickens. We rarely have runs like this where we are single digit lows and not breaking 30 during the day, so some complex system doesn’t make sense.

We ended up with less snow than expected due to sleet but it’s still enough to enjoy!

So late this year in clearing things out. Got a decent chunk of overgrown garden cleaned out on this nice warm day. Going to drop to the teens by next weekend so want to get as much of this done as possible.

This was a fun Thanksgiving weekend we had. 16 quarts of Turkey stock too through the pressure canner!

Painting the future treehouse deck. Was supposed to be brown. Lowe’s gave us battleship gray. So looks like we are making a battleship themed treehouse!

And all done with the hay loading. Tweaked my back out a bit there.

Hay to the hay loft today. Boys are finally at the age where they are super helpful and strong enough to move 80lb bales. 150 of ‘em this year!

I try to spend about 30 minutes a day out with the scythe when there's grass to mow. Our paddock system isn't really well suited for paddock shifting (was originally a small horse farm), so it's difficult to get the pulsed grazing going.
