When Amelaine and Rivi finally left Ishgard behind and tried to make a case to stay in Idyllshire, Rivi was eager to offer to earn their keep. Slowfix was skeptical of the meek little thing's usefulness, until seeing their Pictomancy in action, helping gobbies and treasure hunters alike.

Rivière is based on myself in a lot of ways and shares my personal mental cocktail of ADHD, autism, anxiety disorder and PTSD. (Possibly some other things neither of us really understand yet!) My experience with all of these informs my writing of Rivi a fair amount.

Rivi never met Zlatan, but Runar was definitely good people to them. ❤️ They could see his huge gentle heart from a mile away, and are really grateful to him for caring for Y'shtola for so long. They're actually a little sad those two couldn't stay together, Rivi thought he was really romantic...

Finally chipping away at these! Urianger is an interesting one. Intimidated Rivi a lot for a long while, until they eventually found out he's actually a shy awkward dork inside just like they are. I like to think their shared love of Il Mheg is when they began to properly bond.

I won't comment on certain aspects of the new variant dungeon, but I will say an enchanted painterly storybook world featuring a FAIRY MERMAID is extremely Rivi-core. They absolutely fangirled all about it to Krile afterwards

This is a pretty relevant qotd to Rivi! Prior to ARR they were a sheltered, soft-hearted little thing, with experience in scaring off weaker monsters with magic paint, at best. They broke inside real early on with what they were forced and pushed to do. Had no choice but to numbly adjust. (1/)

The thought has crossed Rivi's mind on occasion, and it's been harrowing, yet also gets their chest fluttering a little... But they'd never bring it up - they'd wait and prioritize how Krile or Mashi feel. They're a bit reluctant, though, given... how being the WoL goes.

Even amid the rising threat of the Final Days, Rivi and Krile's return to Sharlayan together after years couldn't help but ignite emotions between the two even more. But faced with Rivi's concern after being freed of Hydaelyn's voice, it was Krile's feelings which finally began clicking into place.

Rivi has really been all over the place when I think about it... Born in New Sharlayan, lived in Ishgard from age 5 to 13, stayed in Old Sharlayan for the next 3 years, and then Idyllshire for another 2 before the MSQ starts

Finally returning G'raha Tia to The Source also helped kindle more life into Rivi and Krile's process of reconnecting. The three were a closely-knit trio during their time in the Students of Baldesion, and upon their reunion, things couldn't help but feel like the old days again at times.

I crave drawing XIV stuff again, and I know that's what a lot of people follow me for, but my artistic attention is split in so many other directions lately that it's fallen by the wayside... But that's part of why I appreciate having GPoses to lean on for XIV muse, it demands less time and energy

Wanted to finally properly visualize Rivière's birth parents, Oto Hameto and Pelala Pela - both researchers from the Dravanian Sharlayan colony, a placid zoologist and spirited illustrator, respectively. The years Rivi spent with them before their deaths were relatively few, but precious.

Animals & zoology have been my hyperfixation since childhood! I'm the kind of person who can tell you the phylogenetics of most mammals, or who will complain about an out-of-place bird call in a movie. I have a taxonomically organized collection of photos I've taken of different species, 477 strong!

Ejika's interactions with Rivi must have been interesting. Bullying them one minute, standing up for them the next. Taking umbrage with their closeness to Krile while begrudgingly appreciating how happy they make her. When Rivi came out I bet he reacted something like "bah, took you long enough"

Rivi doting over Krile whenever they need to be among crowds, making sure her Echo doesn't get too overwhelmed... Ushering her to somewhere quiet to sit together, holding her hand, stroking her... 🥺 As the generally more anxious one, Rivi stepping up to tend to Krile's needs really gets me

French! I'm one of those people who headcanons Ishgardians as actually sounding French. It's a staple of every version of Rivi. It's not quite as overt as a native Ishgardian would be, since their Sharlayan birth parents' Received Pronunciation laid foundations for Rivi's first 5 or 6 years.

hhhhh I need to be strong and finish Eureka someday. I have to Do It For Her. And it's something I consider canon to Rivi, how could they not help save their old home away from home? But... long stretches of grinding mix with my ADHD like oil and water (╥﹏╥)

I've thought about how being around Rivi's anxiety levels must have felt for Krile... Almost makes me feel bad for shipping them sometimes lol But I think sensing their gentleness and kindness must have balanced it out. And if anyone was able to soothe Rivi's nerves better than most, it was Krile

Living in Ishgard, it happened daily. Being a meek effeminate egg, the only Lalafell among Elezen, poor, and having the Echo made them a perfect target. Between that and lingering trauma over their parents' deaths, they did not respond well and barely ever left their adoptive mother's house.

I'm a day late but I was compelled! I figured Rivi would feel dysphoric in most suits though so I wasn't sure, until @lovesick-onion.bsky.social suggested secretary-chic, and a Baldesion bookkeeper look came to mind. I truly underestimated the power of Rivi in a tie.

Between Krile and Mashi both, I haven't been able to word this in any other way that didn't make me think "oh god is their type just Manic Pixie Dream Girl" (°ー° ;)

Rivière was avoidant about their experiences in The First all through efforts to return the other Scions, but Krile, sensing their corrupted aether and emotional pain, pulled them aside and finally got them to open up. Their mutual compassion for each other couldn't help but return in the process.

Could alternatively be either Krile messing with Rivi to get a cute little worried reaction out, or Rivi delving into even weirder applications of Pictomancy that have Krile just a little concerned...

Slight 7.4 spoilers! Unsurprisingly it's my fav DT patch so far, as someone drifting between homes and countries and struggling with my identity, Krile confiding in you about her worries in that regard REALLY got to me.. I just wanted to give her a hug, had to pose in a hurry 😅

Way up at the top of this for sure. Wounded birdie by default, but can shift over to wind-up toy if they really trust you. Krile and Mashi have still had to put in a little work to get them there because of their reluctance to burden anyone.

Given Rivi was already close with him, I like to think this has definitely happened with G'raha at least once. Possibly all three of the examples listed. Back in their Studium days, timid little Rivi definitely had to be talked into it... but now they just have to look and nod at each other.

Genuinely I just really liked Krile ^^; But it really came together when Rivi having known Krile in their youth at Sharlayan was decided. Their relationship in my mind shifted from "big sister figure to Rivi" to something much closer that felt like what Rivi needed and made me feel warm and fuzzy
