When people say “roll your own auth”, I think “write your own auth logic on top of cryptography primitives”. Turns out today many people mean “use framework-provided auth solutions instead of using 3rd party auth service”. The meaning of all abstraction boundaries keeps rising.

I do this as well, regularly. I call it bankruptcy :)

I've heard this opinion in quantum circles a few times: NISQ-level circuit transpilation/routing/optimization is a solved problem, and we should invest all efforts into QEC transpilers. I feel we're too eager to skip the reality of NISQ. It's here, we're here, and the software is not good.
