it wasn't intended when i created them but the more i developed them the more mei and ashina became mirrors of eachother, so obviously they have to be rivals... mei having genuine loyalty to her master vs ashina merely being a sycophant drawn to anyone they perceive as being the "strongest"

tanuki!! anka and toshiko 🍃 these two don't have much of a connection other than being tanuki, but.... i am very fond of them.... anka is a hot-headed loner trying to study ninjutsu, and toshiko is the young and very unprepared matriarch of the tanuki clan (she also cannot hold her liquor)

noriko the hakutaku librarian and chelte the tengu 🍂 they have a close bond and work together, because noriko is too sickly and frail to travel herself, chelte helps her with her textbooks by traversing the country and compiling information ☆(´ ∀ ` *)
