In 2018, the People's Bank of the Republic of Macedonia issued the first polymer #banknotes: 10 and 50 denars. They retain the appearance of paper versions, but have additional security features. Paper #banknotes will remain in circulation until May 2019.

In October 2017, Scotland released a £10 #note featuring the Glenfinnan Viaduct used in the Harry Potter films. Polymer #banknote with a portrait of Walter Scott and an image of an old steam locomotive on the reverse side.

In November 2021, a commemorative #banknote of 500 manats was issued in Azerbaijan to commemorate the first anniversary of the Victory of the Azerbaijan Army in the 44-day Patriotic War of 2020.

In February 2022, the Czech Republic issued a commemorative 50 crown #banknote dedicated to the 50th anniversary of Jaromir Jagr, the legendary hockey player and 1998 Olympic champion. This monetary token recognizes Jagr's contribution to hockey and his ongoing career with his home club Kladno.

Northern Ireland £50, Ulster Bank will issue a new polymer #banknote in 2022 to celebrate the outstanding achievements of the women of Northern Ireland.

At the end of 2021, Hong Kong introduced a new commemorative HK$20 #banknote dedicated to the Beijing Olympic Games. Banknote with the emblem of the games and the image of the Bank of China Tower. Circulation – 2 million.

In 2022, Fiji released an 88 cent collector's note dedicated to the god of luck and the money tree. Colours: brown and yellow, dimensions: 156 mm x 76 mm, material: cotton. The banknote is not intended for circulation.

The unique Kyiv Golden Gate is depicted on the souvenir banknote with a face value of 0 euros, issued in a circulation of 5'000 pieces. Sales will begin on January 13, 2024. The #banknote contains part of the anthem of Kyiv.
