Does anyone know why so many writers are querying super long manuscripts lately? I’m seeing a lot of projects clocking in at close to 200k. Are writers not editing before querying? Is there bad advice somewhere that says the higher the word count, the more impressive the story?

I vote we all buy one book (or more) from this list today and give it to a young person in our life.
