Violent crime leading to injury is falling in every borough. This progress is thanks to our police and prevention through my London Violence Reduction Unit. One violent crime is one too many, which is why we will continue working to build a safer London for everyone.

Tackling the housing crisis has been one of my top priorities. It’s great news that two of the new towns will be in London, delivering much needed housing. Every new home built is a step forward and will give more Londoners the safe, secure housing they deserve.

Violent crime resulting in injury has fallen across all 32 London boroughs over the past year. There is still much more to do, but we're making progress. London’s homicide rate is also lower than in other major European capitals, including Paris, Berlin and Madrid.

There's still a long way to go, but the evidence is clear: our approach to tackling violent crime and its complex causes is working. Violent crime leading to injury is falling in every borough. I'm determined to build on this progress and deliver a safer London for everyone.

Violent crime with injury is down in every London borough thanks to the collective efforts of the police and London's Violence Reduction Unit. But one death or one crime is one too many - so we’ll keep working with partners and the government to drive down crime and make London safer for everyone.

Women in London deserve to be safe, and to feel safe - whatever time of day or night, and wherever they are in the capital, so I welcome fresh action by the Met to make women safer by tackling spiking across London’s bars, clubs and night-time venues.

From this Saturday, the Bakerloop will better connect Londoners and communities between central and South East London.  The Superloop has already added more than seven million km to the network. This new route will strengthen transport links even more for people in South East London.

I’m proud to unveil the Bakerloop - a brand-new, express electric bus service linking communities from Waterloo to Lewisham. To celebrate its launch, the Bakerloop service will be free to use during its first week, from 27 September to 4 October.
