Just posted a couple of reflections to my website on one month of two boys.

I'm putting together a Scottish Obsidian Users Group. Plan is to run a few lunch/evening online sessions to share tips and tricks 👇

The ideas behind agile tend to be squashed down to two words: “move fast”. But the Agile Manifesto says nothing about moving fast.

Bedtime is when I have the best conversations with my wee guy. We make stuff up together, play with words, talk about our day. He is the one being generative. I'm not against using AI as a tool, but it would be sad to outsource that part of the day.

Went to the Lothian Bus Depot Doors Open Day yesterday. Lots of family fun!

I don't really get this - I have a private database of notes, I have private written journals. They both help me think. Would you confuse the journals themselves for thinking?

I don't really understand the reaction to the "can AIs suffer" article. Lots of people dunking. But my rough guess of consciousness is an emergent loopy complexity - so I think it's reasonable to ask if machines will ever achieve this

Discord syncs the light/dark mode setting between devices so I can't have one device on dark, one on light (I can't sync with the system setting, as I only want some apps "light" on my e-ink display)

I'm going to a gig at Murrayfield. They issue travel advice as it'll be busy - covering public transport and walking, but no mention of bikes. Cycling there would take me ~15 minutes, and every other (non-car) way 40+ minutes at the best of times. Do they have any bike facilities there?

Good to catch up with so many familiar faces at Tectonic Night Summit yesterday.

Several times after I have complained about data protection and collection issues the company concerned immediately "deletes" my record so cannot then give me any info as to how they sourced the data. Is this common practice for data brokers?
