December 10, 2025 🌱 This morning we got above freezing for the first time in a while, plus it rained, so it was an all-around soggy mess. Here‘s the ‘Red Flame’ switchgrass in the thawing snow.

December 2, 2025 🌱 It hardly rained all year, but boy did it snow in November.

November 24, 2025 🌱 There’s a new round of construction zone refugees in my garden. We found this peony growing under an enormous baptisia. I hope it likes its new home where it will actually get some light.

October 31, 2025 🌱 A fallen maple leaf snagged in the purpleleaf sand cherry. The sandcherry looks like it has magnificent fall color, but its leaves have been this red all along 😆

October 30, 2025 🌱 A cozy corner of the garden. Mushroom log, bright red fallen leaves, fuzzy seeds, and some chocolate mint because why not. The seeds are on a stem that the painters broke and left laying around. My best guess is frost aster, but none of my other frost aster is fuzzy like that.

October 29, 2025 🌱 Trumpet vine spilling over the top of the fence. This side of the fence is deep shade. Trumpet vine likes full sun, so I’m not sure why it has put this much growth into such a spot. But I don’t mind.

October 23, 2025 🌱 There are two new branches on the wee snowberry bush. The dark wood is old growth, and the lighter branches are new. It doesn’t make the most aesthetic photo, but such exciting news!

October 22, 2025 🌱 The late boneset is currently a mix of green stems with green leaves, red stems with green leaves, and red stems with red leaves.
