It’s weird how Deltarune juggles two wacky worlds. Like, Hometown is already pretty whimsical. It’s pretty incredible that they successfully made the Darkworlds still feel like a fantasy world that could still feel like and escapist fantasy world to the hometown denizens.

Another Deltarune to DQ11 comparison, playing this ONE chapter with like 40 different tracks, so many of them BANGERS. DQ11 has like six. Like jeepers, at least change the instrumentation or something. It’s a little lame that the European castle has the exact soundscape as a Japanese hot spring.

Which to be fair, it’s clear a LOT of work went into localization. Every area has their own dialects and quirks, there’s a LOT of punnery and word play. “How” the NPCs talk is great, “what” they’re actually saying not so much.
