Pro tip when launching on Product Hunt: Polish your visual assets. Take Appwrite for example. #1 Product of the Day, #1 Developer Tool of the Month. They _really_ nailed it.

The most common mistake when launching on Product Hunt? A confusing tagline. When we launched Specify in 2022, we considered 2 options: 1. Distribute your brand from design to code 2. Sync your Figma files with GitHub repositories in minutes We picked the latter, more straightforward.

I write the Product Hunt newsletter. Here's how to get featured in it. : Product Hunt Discussion Forums | Product Hunt
Hey everyone 👋 I'm Aaron and for the last few years I've been writing the Product Hunt newsletters. That includes: our daily, weekly, developer tools, and AI tools ones. Every morning I look through the homepage to try and find the coolest products to write about and I want to share with you all what I look in a launch so you can increase your chances of getting featured! Uniqueness: It doesn't need to be a never before seen world-changing product. It just needs to do something unique. I'm not going to write about yet another social media scheduler unless it flips the script a little and does something interesting compared to the rest. A good gallery: I can't stress this enough, without some solid images showcasing your product, there's a high chance I will skim past it. It doesn't need to be mind-blowing top tier design skills, just avoid blurry images and avoid screenshots that are illegible. A ton of tools like @Xnapper make it super easy to take beautiful gallery shots in seconds.

Product Hunt definitely is a great place to launch a dev-first product. It helps raise awareness, get feedback, collect customer testimonials, and enable early traction. The question isn't _if_ you should launch on Product Hunt. It's _how._

Should you launch often on Product Hunt? : General Discussion Forums | Product Hunt
Many teams still treat launching on Product Hunt as a one-time thing, like something you do once and move on. From working with teams who use Product Hunt strategically, I’ve seen a different pattern, and I’d love to share it here. Smart teams launch at least twice a year. Every 6 months. Or even more frequently if there’s a big update, new feature, or major change. A launch gives the team an internal reason to move faster, ship something meaningful, and hit deadlines. From a marketing perspective, it’s also a great moment to make some noise and re-energize your audience. General Tips: -Don’t think of launches as one-offs – think in cycles. -Use launches to create momentum, both inside and out. -Make sure your update is meaningful – not just cosmetic. -Engage with the community before and after launch day. Have thoughts or experiences with relaunching? Drop them in the comments 👇

Another perspective on when to launch on Product Hunt: If you're a developer tool, you may want to launch on a weekend. Why? Because many developers are developers in and out of work, with hobby projects to experiment with a new language, framework, or tool.

Would you rather launch on a day packed with products or with as little competition as possible? : Product Hunt Discussion Forums | Product Hunt
While preparing for our launch and browsing the upcoming launches, I asked myself what the best move would be for choosing a day: 1. Pick a day when you have less competition (e.g., fewer products and/or fewer similar products). 2. Pick the day where the most products are launched. More products = more teams pushing = more people likely to discover your product. What would you choose? Having the fourth position with 500 upvotes one day, or being first with 400 upvotes another day?

Did Appwrite do the ideal Product Hunt launch? : Appwrite Discussion Forums | Product Hunt
Appwrite last launched on Product Hunt a month ago. It was their fourth launch here, and they really nailed it: #1 Product of the Day #1 Developer Tool of the Week #1 Developer Tool of the Month What Appwrite did right Polished the tagline and visual assets. The most important part of this launch? The tagline is the first thing you read on the front page. "The open-source Vercel alternative" checks all the boxes: The community loves OSS products, and @Vercel is in the Top 0,1% most-loved products. The value is upfront. Found a Hunter. @benln was the hunter of this launch — an established user, among the 2022 Community Members of the Year (runner-up). It helped increase reach and made a difference. Built momentum early. The launch was planned for May 19, and the team first posted on 𝕏 10 days before. Engaged with the community. The team upvoted and replied to every comment. An insider told me: "The team was quick with responding and engaging. We cleared a part of the calendar to be able
