Just ran some Vampire: The Masquerade set in 1987. The PCs tracked down a Giovanni drug operation that mixed Gio tombstone dust with cocaine. When users overdosed, they always turned into ghosts and found themselves easily bound into service to the clan.

Just ran a session of my Vampire game that has arrived in 1969, with the PCs on their way to Woodstock in vans full of hippie Fae. One of them dropped acid (through feeding) and had an intense conversation with all three of the vampires she has diablerized. Tons of fun ahead.

Reading the Magic section of Legend in the Mist. Honestly, I’m falling in love with this magic system. It feels like it should scale beautifully, from intimate, simple spells to world shaking magics.

With lots of Halloween decorations to choose from already, my girlfriend and I were overwhelmed at first. However, we got two matching plush spiders (one black and one white), so we've decided it's the YEAR OF THE SPIDER! This has greatly aided us in decision making.

Running my weekly Vampire game tonight. The PCs, who were embraced as witches in the 1690's just moved into the 1960's after a long downtime. They're about to go to a Beatles concert in the middle of Beatlemania to negotiate with the local Fae. Gonna be fun (and loud). Lots of screams.

My alternate timeline Vampire game with alternate sects moved to the Americas last year, but we focused on Salem, Mass. Now the PCs are starting to branch out and their world is getting bigger. Having some fun with it.

At the end of my most recent V20 V:tM session, one of my players rolled to have their Lasombra assist in a collective use of Obtenebration to summon a demon from the Abyss (in my games, Obtenebration is kinda infernal). They rolled a septuple botch!

World of Darkness, the 'setting' and publisher of games like VAMPIRE THE MASQUERADE, is returning (?) to its roots and publishing books again under its old moniker of White Wolf. Why? It's a "return to the roots", according to the company's Discord.

City of Mist propoganda: oh my god it's literally the best RPG ever made when it comes to character creation. It's a Daredevil-inspired Modern Urban Fantasy Noir where you play as ordinary people who function as gateways through which figures of Legend can enact their wills upon the world!

One fun thing we've established in my alternate timeline Vampire: The Masquerade game is the existence of clan capitals. Just like with the Giovanni in Venice, each of the clans has a capital, which can even change if major events happen there that make it unsafe or politically dubious.

My pet peev is when people use the term "late stage capitalism", since that's not really a thing in economics. But maybe we should all just use it for things we're rooting to go down. "Late stage D&D is so bloated.", etc.

Vampire the Masquerade, Requiem style: run your Chronicle as an alternate universe. Work with your players to pick 5 clans. Those are the only clans, though bloodlines are allowed. Make up 5 covenants/sects that make sense for those clans to invent over the centuries.

To all my #TTRPG friends who have/are making their own systems. PLEASE make a set of pregenerated characters and a short starter adventure freely available, in addition to the easily accessible quick start PDF (that you already have, right?) It's gonna do wonders for onboarding new players.

My brain seems to intuit the acronym JFC to mean something like "just for context" or "just for clarity", to the point where sometimes when I'm giving someone context I almost want to type JFC in there as part of it. That's not what it means. It means "Jesus Fucking Christ".

I did some writing work on this game, btw. The creator, Chris Gunning, is an old White Wolf writer and he's great.

In case it wasn't clear: Overseas tariffs + Diamond going bankrupt + paper shortages means lots of small press folks (including any RPG publisher that isn't Hasbro) are going to have a *tough* 2025. If you were on the fence on buying some of their books, now is the best time to get them.
