Michael Hee Ium (1984-2025) As you may know, our dear Co-editor, Michael Ium, passed away last week unexpectedly in Vienna. It is a great loss for all those who knew or met him. The outpouring of grief and sadness at his passing is a testament to how many people cared for and adored Michael.

The CJBS welcomes submissions for the second annual Buddhist Education Foundation of Canada Annual Article Award. This award will offer $1000 CAD to up to two articles written by graduate students or early career scholars deemed as excellent, with priority given to those with connections to Canada.

The CJBS calls for applications for the Buddhist Education Foundation of Canada Conference Grants, which will award PhD students (in Canada) or recent graduates (of Canadian institutions) in the field of Buddhist Studies up to $500 CAD for participation in online or in-person conferences.

The Canadian Journal of Buddhist Studies is delighted to welcome our new Book Review Editor, Dr. Geethika Dharmasinghe (PhD, Cornell University, 2022). Currently, she is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the University of Toronto's Department for the Study of Religion and Ho Centre for Buddhist Studies.
