That said, religious groups and organizations often tend to handle violations of the Divines' will directly. Those commit war crimes for instance, answer to the Branded.

#FebruaryWorldbuilders Laws are made by a mix of deities and mortals. The Divines have certain rules in place for their followers; Eminess, for example, demands that hunters never harm fellow humans and that every part of their prey that can be used must be. Vashamala has strict rules for warfare.

#FebruaryWorldbuilders Nope! Time moves at the same pace pretty-much wherever you are in Theryl: the sun and moon birds take flight, soar high overhead, and then roost while the other one gets ready to ascend. That said, the concept of time does get wonky if anything ever happens to them...

#FebruaryWorldbuilders Theryl as most people know it came into existence after a long and arduous conflict between the first seven Divines and their primordial enemies: The Shayta. Only after emerging triumphant and imprisoning the Shayta in the underworld did the Divines begin to shape the world.

I suppose the best way to describe my process is that I tend to start with a central concept/archetype and go from there. My characters' personalities tend to develop on their own as I write them, which sometimes does lead them to having accidental similarities with characters from other series...

#FebruaryWorldbuilders There are two deserts of note in Theryl. The first is Urgaia, which takes up most of the eastern continent of Primlan. Vast seas of sand stretch as far as one can see, though the sand slowly transitions into compact earth as one heads further north toward the Torman Mountains.

I'm a bit over halfway through with Ashbound Oaths, and I must say: "Hell was coming, and Grim was coming with it" is a REALLY cool way to end a chapter.

#FebruaryWorldbuilders The most notable mountain in Theryl is Sarpakāda, located in Hol. It is a massive icy mountain with a wide base and a flat top, with tones of slopes and caverns found all across its exterior.

#FebruaryWorldbuilders No one actually knows for sure just how large Theryl is. Those who have tried to explore beyond the boundaries of the known world have often gone missing without a trace.

#JanuaryWorldbuilders Given that the setting of my current WIP, Dhesa, is based on a mix of Russia and Germany, I've had to do a bit of research into both countries's history and folklore. I've also done a bit of research into the Roma people for reasons I won't get into right this moment...

#JanuaryWorldbuilders There are a few notable wars throughout Theryl's history, but perhaps one of the most vital is the War of the First Spark. The exact details of the war have been muddled with time, but it took place in the land that would be known as Hol.

#JanuaryWorldbuilders Siege weapons in Theryl mainly consist of catapults and ballistae, though the creation of spark powder has allowed for the limited incorporations of cannons into the mix. I've written a few siege scenes, though honestly I tend to do slightly better with clashes between armies.
