This record meant everything to 14-year old me and I completely forgot to include it in my #5DebutAlbums9094 long list. We’re now up to 7 non-negotiables, this isn’t going to be easy.

I had a CD purge a few years ago when one of my shelving units collapsed so I don’t own physical copies of many of these anymore, but choosing for #5DebutAlbums9094 is gojng to be rough…or possibly easy since I’ve got 5 non-negotiables in mind already; some great listening in the weeks to come.

25 Favorite Albums of the last 25 Years, roughly chronologically and likely forgetting about something important.

It was a good year to be an SFA fan. (Side note: I ordered the ‘Love Kraft’ reissue from Rough Trade US in October since I couldn’t find it locally and thinking it would be faster and cheaper than importing it and it just arrived today, guess that’s the end of that relationship.)

My top 3 for #5Albums25 are pretty much locked in, going to have fun revisiting the last 12 months to see what takes the last 2 spots. (I didn’t realize I had so many albums from this year, and there are quite a few I meant to buy but never got around to.)

It won’t qualify for #5Albums25 due to it being a compilation, but the excellently named ‘All The Young Droids: Junkshop Synthpop 1978-1985’ is my favorite release of 2025. Made of up long out of print private press and one-off singles; anyone remotely interested in the genre should check it out.

The original ‘Silent Night, Deadly Night’ is one of my favs so we had to give the new remake a shot. I wasn’t sure what to think of it at first, but after THAT scene it clicked and I loved how they took the basic frame but made something completely different; well done all involved. #FilmSky

#NowListening #MusicSky Elastica - The Menace Like many, I was not ready for it one in 2000. However this aptly named, willfully difficult art-piece and I have grown into each other over the last 25 years and it sounds fucking fantastic tonight.

I’ve never understood why we do this in early December when there’s a full month of listening left, but here we are; surprised to see ‘The Brown Album’ maintained its stranglehold from early in the year, though I suppose there’s A LOT of content there.

We’re still waiting on Rhydian Dafydd’s album to arrive in the post, but it’s gonna take some doing to beat Hilary Woods’ ‘Night CRIÚ’ as my favorite album of the year.
