Jim Crane was busy selling season tix and mini plans when he said “the window is always open.” #Astros are slow starters. But this year feels different. Is the window still open? If losses continue to mount, when does Crane pull the plug to cut losses and save 2027 ticket sales?

I saw a couple of Dis #Astros posts. So I thought I’d post one of our favorites from that era.

#Astros team ERA is 6.19, which is worst in MLB. They are second in SO (209) but worst in BB (120) & WHIP (1.65). They are also worst in HB (17). Team fielding is good. they’re 8th in FP (.989). On offense, they are 3rd in OPS (.783), 5th in AVG (.257), 5th in HR (26), & 3rd in RUNS scored (116).

I don’t remember the quote, but it goes something like this. You can’t win the division in April. But you can lose the division in April. #Astros are 4-12 in April in 2026. They are 8-14 overall. They wrap up April with these three series: at CLE (12-10), vs NYY (12-9), & vs BAL (10-11).

Alan suggested that Crane may blow up the #Astros if this losing continues. It’s April. The team still has a chance to turn it around. But for sake of discussion, Imagine that it’s Memorial Day, #Astros are 12 games under 500, & ticket sales are poor, what would you do if you were Crane?
