I acknowledge the great significance of today adoption by #UNGA of a Resolution demanding an end to Israel's occupation of Palestinian territory within 1 year. The EU reiterates its calls for a lasting & sustainable peace.

I condemn today’s new attacks in Lebanon and join UN Human Rights Chief @Volker_Turk call for an independent investigation. The risk of military escalation, with devastating consequences for the entire region, requires an urgent mobilisation.

The explosions in Lebanon seem to have been targeted, but had heavy, indiscriminate collateral damages among civilians: children were killed. The situation is extremely worrying. I can only condemn these attacks that endanger Lebanon’s security & stability

Iran could play a major role for peace and stability in the region and globally. But for now, it has chosen another path. The EU is responding with targeted sanctions against the regime and its enablers.

A pleasure to meet H. H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Deputy PM & FM. The #EU & #UAE continue to strengthen cooperation across sectors & internationally, including on delivering humanitarian aid to civilians in Gaza & finding a sustainable solution to the conflict.

The Georgian Parliament adopted laws on ‘family values and protection of minors’ which will undermine the fundamental rights of the people and increase discrimination & stigmatisation. I call on Georgia to withdraw this legislation, further derailing the country from its EU path.

Congratulations to all the members of the proposed next @EU_Commission announced today by @vonderleyen. All the best in particular to Spanish Commissioner @TeresaRibes3 as Executive Vice-President of a Clean, Just, and Competitive Transition.
