A keeper doesn’t have to own housing but must be able to legally offer it for free or as part of a sublet, must submit to background check at no cost to themselves, and must inform the Housing Team if their ability to offer housing changes

Keepers also alert the Housing Team of situations of immediate need such as exposure to the elements, elevated risk of harm or abuse, and children in company

Get to know the roles of QCERT. This afternoon: KEEPER A Keeper is a grassroots individual volunteer pledges to provide housing for LGBT+ refugees. Almost half of homeless youth are LGBT+, so this role is vital in communities where we care for our own
