Jamie has a gig tonight in Leeds, with his own band. Tomorrow he is playing a function gig in Ipswich. Then, after staying in Ipswich, he travels over to Weston-Super-Mare to join with the Northern Swing Orchestra. Followed by the long trek back home to Leeds. Busy chap!

Wednesday 7th January 09:00 Temperatures between 0c and 5c, currently 3c but due to the WNW wind of 18-30mph it actually feels like minus 5c. The snow has all but gone for now, there may be more in the next few days. I feel like shit today.😰

Pre-op for hip replacement #2 that was due at 14:00 today, and cancelled at 09:00, has now been rescheduled for 15th January. To be honest, I am a bit scared of going through the whole thing again. Being on my own made the recovery rather difficult. It needs doing.

Tuesday 6th January 10:45 A bit more snow last night. Temperature currently 2°c, rising to 3c, where it should remain overnight. The SSW wind 8-15mph will make it feel colder. A new bird in the garden this morning, a Pied Wagtail, a rare visitor for me. The moon last night.

As the sun goes down a low mist appears on the field. Temperature now is minus 2°c, and will fall to minus 8c tonight. It is arctic out there!

Monday 5th January 07:45 A significant overnight snowfall, about 5-6". Current temperature is minus 7°c, rising to zero later. A gentle 4mph wind that will take the 'feels like' down a degree or two. If you're going out then clear your windscreen properly, and take care!!

We reached a high temperature of 1°c, and as the sun sets the temp will drop, down to minus 7° by dawn. Forecast suggests there will be four hours of snow tonight, I expect the gritters will be busy. Keep warm!

Snow, sort of! Had a bit of a start in the garden just now. Stood watching the Blue Tits, and a Buzzard flew along the fence line about a foot above the ground, coming to rest on the hedge on the left of the field. I see them often, up high, or on the trees in the distance, but never low and close.

After last night’s gig at Fulford Golf Club, very posh, Jamie is in Hawes for a gig tonight. Went to Hawes a couple of times to pick up Wensleydale cheese, quite a trip in a 44t artic! Glad to see he’s being fed properly!
