Sat next to a cool guy on the plane home named John. Thanks for talking about memoirs - Patti Smith’s and my book. He asked for a signed copy and I was glad to give it. We discussed vinyl, books, our kids and journalism. Great way to end my week at AWP. Thanks John 🙏

A big 3 poem acceptance from Northern New England Review this morning as I’m walking to AWP in LA to-sign copies of my memoir. Is this real life. Thank you writing gods and to the universe!!!! Keep writing or going after your dreams no matter how long it takes and even when it’s hard!!!

I should be editing- I should be writing-I am paralyzed with all I have to get done before AWP. So instead I’m in bed scrolling 😬

When I write I write….. a lot, so now the new poetry and two manuscripts I’m querying are bringing rejections every.single.day. I thought this would be easier after I got an actual book published last year but it’s actually much much harder. Someone will be my agent!!!!

Trying not to take it personal but when an agent rejects you after a 50 page query and it’s only been 8 hours. Either I’m that bad or she didn’t even read it.

I can’t believe my life 💚 Today I received an offer on my 2nd chapbook and I almost didn’t read the email because I get so many rejections. Finished grad sch. at 41. Submitted 2 chapbooks for publication at 42. Both will be published in 2024 at 43. First offer to teach creative writing - 43. YOLO

My first post here ever will be to say thank you to Washington Square Review for publishing one of my poems and surprising me on a sad moody today with a writers copy. This is what keeps me going!
