Today we celebrate the birthday of an important member of our community — Den. Guitarist of the bands Bezlad and Turbota, part of the Kharkiv Hardcore Fest crew, a volunteer since the first days of the full-scale war, and for almost a year now — a serviceman. 👇

In July, Oleg Chefranov — a musician from the band Liniya Nadrizu — was killed on the front line. For over 15 years, he had been part of this iconic Kharkiv-based project. He joined the band in 2008, while the band itself has existed since the late 1990s. 1/2

It's been reported that Andriy "Johnny" Rusin has passed away in Kharkiv. He was in his hometown on medical leave, undergoing rehabilitation after being wounded in Donbas. Johnny had been a notable figure in Kharkiv’s punk scene since '99 - and remained passionate about punk rock until the very end

In June 2023, we held our festival, and the illustration "Unbreakable Kharkiv" was specially created for it. However, we didn’t manage to print the tshirts in time for the event. In June 2025, we finally produced a small batch of tshirts — just 50 pieces, in sand and light brown colors.

Our goal is to help bands be heard by the general public and declare our bright, diverse and rich scene beyond the borders of Kharkiv and the country.

Today is the third anniversary of our friend Igor Volokhov's death. If anyone doesn't know, Igor was an anarchist, social activist, punkrock fan. He was the first from our scene to join the defense forces. And on March 2nd he died as a result of an airstrike on Kharkiv. Never forget! Never forgive!

Three years. An unthinkable term. Let's not discuss all the losses and damages for people, our city or the country as a whole now. How have these years affected our scene? Fewer concerts, fewer bands, fewer people.

If we talk about the Kharkiv Hardcore scene one of the key bands is definitely KNIFEMAN. They have formed their signature sound from the start - modern metallic hardcore with a noticeable crust/dbeat influence and blastbeat streaks . Having appeared in 2013, the band is still working on new stuff.

Today is Kolya Vagon's birthday. He turned (or should have turned) 48. Vagon is the oldest Kharkiv anarchist and punk rock fan we know. From the first days of the invasion, Kolya joined the defense forces. In August of 2024, Kolya went missing while defending positions in the Luhansk region.

For many years, Bodya has not missed any hc/punk gig in Kharkiv. And he always stomped the dance floor furiously. Since the full-scale invasion, Bodya has continued to slam, just not at clubs, but at the frontlines. He currently needs a car to perform combat missions. 🛻 PayPal: [email protected]
