Mrs G has been sharing the Marmite Sandwich demo with Yr 8. 2 more classes to go on Thursday.

We finally did it yesterday. 2 dishwashers in use and a backlog of food test tubes waiting for their turn. Hoping for a less full on day today.

Sadly, Mrs G's Skydive for BBS-UK on Saturday was cancelled due to high wind speeds. (Boo! Hiss!). But it has been rebooked for 31 March '26. (Yippee!). It's a long wait but has a reasonable expectation for good weather and extra time for more donations. www.justgiving.com/page/karen-g...

Food tests are fully underway. These are for Yr 8. Yr 12 are also doing it.

Blending down grapes & chicken for food tests. Add plenty of water so it gives further & doesn't get so stuck - easier to wash up.

This micro Lego kit was a present from one of our leaving Yr13 lads. It's has required several hours and some dubious taking in vain the name of the student responsible, but now it's done. The dome is on and it now has pride of place in our window.

Mrs L is always hot, but sits nearest the heater. Mrs G is always cold but sits nearest the fan. This morning we have rearranged our stuff and swapped position. Watch us forget we did that in September!

Mrs G is fighting the inventory, and appears to be losing! So many text books in different rooms, with very similar names. Aaarrgghh!!

With all the teachers and Mrs L up on Coombe Hill for a Yr 12 Biology field Trip, Mrs G is left unsupervised... Sadly there's plenty of cupboard sorting to do, so no time for mischief. :-(

Many thanks to the lovely folk at SirHenryFloyd for allowing us to raid their pond for daphnia. They have a duck, too, but this one was happy for us to be there.

We were unable to get any Daphnia from our pond this morning but it was for the very best of surprises...

On House Athletics day, The Works come down to the field with their Ice Cream Trolley. Mrs G & Miss G are trialling all 4 available flavours, between them. All in the name of Science, you understand. 😜

Producing 3 x 36 tiny bits of bluetak (I know, ours is white) for sixth form taster day. They're looking at Daphnia.

Mrs L & Mrs G are like ships that pass in the night at the moment, with so many things taking one or other of us out of Biology. Currently Mrs G is in the Prep Room while Mrs L is helping out with some invigilation.

...and the Beast The field is a mess while topsoil is removed prior to the installation of an all weather pitch.

Beauty..... The Headmaster's Quad looks glorious in the sunshine.

All 10 Biology kettles successfully descaled. And a pro tip for you all: When it's time to pour out the solution from the kettles, pour it over your stainless steel sink to descale that, too.

Busy start to this half term as we've been out meeting some of the Yr 6 students coming our way in September.

PAT Testing all complete now in Biology. Time for a restful half-term.
