SFF celebrates transgender, non-binary, and gender‑nonconforming communities this International Transgender Day of Visibility. Amid ongoing threats to their civil rights, we stand with the trans and non-binary community in the fight for healthcare, education, and basic freedoms.

This Farmworkers’ Day, we honor California’s immigrant farmworking communities and their enduring fight for dignity, fair wages, and safer working conditions. We are grateful for their leadership in feeding our communities, strengthening our local economies, and advancing justice.

Young leaders—especially youth of color—are driving change on critical issues. At “The Boldest Among Us” in Oakland’s Fruitvale, SFF CEO Fred Blackwell joined partners to discuss investing in youth. We look forward to exploring ways to support the next generation of changemakers.

🗓️ March 26th is Equal Pay Day! On average, women only earn 76¢ for every $1 paid to white men. These pay disparities cost families opportunity, health, lives & much more. SFF joins the call for equal pay today and every day for all women. It’s time to close the gender pay gap!📢

We launched the Stand Together Bay Area Fund to protect the rights of our immigrant neighbors and provide financial support and resources. Stanford Social Innovation Review recently highlighted the fund and our goal to reach $10 million to support immigrant communities. Read more:

Building power requires holding people accountable for their harmful actions. While we cannot rewrite history, we can certainly learn from it. As the fight for equity and civil rights continues, we draw inspiration from Dolores Huerta when we say, sí se puede!

Through grassroots organizing, these workers fought for dignity, respect, and expanded protections across the state. We captured this photo when Dolores was kind enough to come speak with our team about movement-building and community organizing.

As an organization, we’re working towards building an equitable, thriving Bay Area. This work is inspired, in part, by the legacy of the United Farm Workers movement, which was built on the collaborative efforts of Mexican and Filipino immigrant farmworkers.

We stand in solidarity with Dolores Huerta, Ana Murguia, and Debra Rojas, the brave survivors who shared their harrowing stories of sexual assault. In light of this week’s news, we remain committed to believing survivors and supporting them in the pursuit of justice.
