7 years ago, we voted to remove the 8th amendment from the Constitution. This allows the government to create legislation regulating abortion provision. Since then we've had Marie O’Shea’s review recommendations published, but not implemented.

On this day 7 years ago, the Repeal of the 8th amendment marked a milestone in women’s access to reproductive rights in Ireland. While progress has been made, we still have a long way to go to ensure true and equal access to abortion care for all women in Ireland.

6 years ago, we repealed the 8th amendment. Since then we've had the review recommendations published ,but not implemented, and the Safe Access Zones bill passed. Abortion is still criminalised and people are still traveling for a variety of reasons. This is not good enough
