My "Generic Solution to the Sorites Paradox" just came out in Erkenntnis (open access, link below). Essentially, I argue that the indeterminacy of vague expressions should be understood analogously to the semi-decidability of first-order logic. #philosophy #bluesky

I get the feeling I know exactly where in their pages and how the Washington Post would have reported about Hans and Sophie Scholl, had they been local to DC.

One of my favourite abstract artists is Japanese painter and printmaker Toko Shinoda (1913-2021). With spring slowly approaching, posting her print (with hand-applied sumi brush strokes) 'Chrysalis' seems appropriate.

Not a happy topic, but perhaps more people shld know at least the v. basics about the genocide in Namibia by the Germans in 1904-08. It's rarely mentioned.
