#30DayMapChallenge | Day 26 Transport | After Atlanta, I made another #LEGO transit map of #Madison Metro Rapid BRT. Smooth lines failed on diagonal routes, so I returned to a pixelated version. I spent really long time designing the capitol building, and hope it serves as the finishing touch! 😊

With a 0.1-mile grid, I built a citywide 3D elevation map and colored the top tiles of each cell by category. #30DayMapChallenge | Day 6 Dimensions | I colored my #lasercut #Wisconsin 3D #topographic map. Though the natural HDF wood tone limited the choice of colors, the dark edges did enhance the 3D effect. Watercolor was used to fill up the valleys. (The digital file was shared to local blind school.)

The style sits between a rapid-response news map and a detailed event map, in both English and Traditional Chinese. Pray for all affected.🕯️

#30DayMapChallenge | Day 28 Black | I painted the #hillshade around #SanFrancisco using black #watercolor. After adding some light colors for land and sea, it looked like an old map, which was really fun. Then I wrote some place names in a vintage type style to match this style.

This past week, my map was on display at #ICC2025. It was my 2nd time with work at ICE, but the 1st time as a physical poster. (Thanks to my Apple & UW colleagues for photos!) After several U.S. showings, I’m excited that it had the chance to contribute to global public awareness of #disasters.
