I guess in fairness to the everything, the US has always done regime change in Latin America. They just aren’t always this blatantly obvious about it. And Canada has always supported it. There are reasons that the Canadian flag is not beloved in the global south.

Carney finally speaks out on a war of aggression and takes the side of the aggressor. Canada is already an American vassal state. Didn’t even mention the US. We knew this was coming when Canada wouldn’t even comment on American bombing fishermen.

So the official Canadian government response (at least our Global Affairs minister’s) appears to be that Venezuela’s government was illegitimate. No mention of the American war of aggression. Canada continues to Canada. We’re already the 51st state in everything but name.

Why is this in the Irish Times and not in any Canadian media?

I can’t believe how tired I am. I napped last night until the fireworks woke me, so, while I was awake for midnight, I watched a movie and went back to sleep. I was napping a bunch today as well. I think my body knows I have to be back in front of the classroom on Monday. Who snitched.

Welp, that tracks. *tired sigh*

As 2026 begins, I reflect on my 2025 accomplishments and think, “uh oh, I forgot to accomplish anything.”

For those whom are curious, the Stó:lō new year begins sometime in October, depending on when the new moon is, new year’s is a couple days after. I can’t remember where I learned that but that is my understanding. I don’t know what the Saulteaux tradition is, or if there is one.

This is both cool and sad.

I went to bed with it -10°C and half a foot of snow on the ground. Woke up to +6°C, heavy rain, no snow on the ground and flood watch warnings over near the Skeena. May need to consider a grocery run.
