Rain showers this morning will transition to a rain-snow mix as colder air spills back into the region with a passing storm system. Temperatures will fall into the 30s by afternoon, dropping from morning highs in the 40s.

💨 A Wind Advisory goes into effect beginning at 7:00 AM tomorrow and continues through 9:00 PM Friday. Southwest winds of 15-30 MPH are expected with gusts up to 45 MPH.

While not immediately concerned about severe weather potential in our area on Thursday, we are keeping a close eye on the NWS Storm Prediction Center's Day 2 Outlook for northward shifts as the Great Lakes region may see it's first severe weather day of 2026 tomorrow.

A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for Clare and Osceola counties, which goes into effect at midnight tonight and runs through 9 AM on Wednesday. This is for the potential of freezing rain, which may make for a slippery Wednesday morning commute.

Cold front moves in this morning pushing rain showers slowly southeast through the day. Highest temperatures today will come this morning for areas south of I-96 approaching 70 before temps fall with the cold front as the day progresses.

Radar around 6 PM this evening shows stronger storms moving east across Lake Michigan, capable of gusty winds, small hail, and possible waterspouts. We are watching for gusty wind/small hail potential as these storms move onshore over the next hour or two.

BREAKING: For the first time in more than 12 years, the National Weather Service has upgraded a Tornado Damage survey to the maximum rating; EF-5! This rating has been given to the June 20th, 2025, Enderlin, ND, tornado, which is now estimated to have packed maximum wind speeds of over 210 MPH!

Partly to mostly cloudy today with scattered showers, and perhaps a storm or 2, moving in by this evening. Highs will be in the low-mid 70s near Ludington and to near 80 along I-94. Temperatures will fall ahead of the cold front bringing the showers this evening.

All indications point to the idea that October will feature continued above-average temperatures and near-normal to slightly below-average precipitation. Not good news for fall weather lovers, fall colors, or the ongoing drought across the area.

Aside from fog and a few clouds along I-94 this morning and it being just a touch cooler today we could really just have copied yesterday's forecast! Another beautiful late-September day is ahead for West Michigan.

Plenty of sunshine and unseasonably warm on this late-September Sunday. Temperatures will range from the mid 70s to the low 80s with calm winds becoming north/northeast.

As expected there is plenty of fog out there this morning with some patchy areas of dense fog as well. The rest of the day will feature a slow burn off of the fog, partly cloudy skies, and scattered showers.

An unsettled start to the week with at least some showers and storms possible each day before the weekend. By Friday, we look to dry out and sunshine returns with continued above-average temperatures.

Stormy at times this weekend. Showers and storms move in for areas mainly West of US-131 this evening. No severe weather is expected with this activity. Additional showers and storms will move through on Sunday and could have an isolated damaging wind and/or large hail risk.

New drought monitor update this morning shows a significant expansion of drought conditions across West Michigan. Parts of the Grand Rapids metro area and the Mt. Pleasant region are now under Severe Drought. Chances for much-needed rain increase this weekend across the area.

An unusually hot September work week is ahead with plenty of sunshine and well-above-average temperatures forecasted. In fact, Thursday we could easily see temperatures push into the low-mid 90s. Rain chances return for the weekend but confidence is low at this point (30-40%).

A beautiful late-summer weekend is ahead with a chance for rain Saturday morning but otherwise dry and pleasant conditions.

A Frost Advisory has been issued for Clare and Osceola County through 9:00 AM Monday morning as temperatures are expected to drop into the mid 30s overnight tonight and could result in some frost formation.

Radar around 1 PM on this Saturday afternoon shows some isolated light rain shower activity moving off to the east, particularly near/north of the I-96 corridor. Mostly Cloudy skies continue elsewhere, with any rain expected to remain very light and isolated in nature.

Increasing clouds this morning will lead to mostly cloudy skies today with highs in the mid 50s to mid 60s. West winds will continue to be breezy, but not as strong as yesterday.
