On the tree every year is this hademade father Christmas. My maternal grandmother was nanny to the local doctors children. They made this in the early 30's from crepe paper and a face cut from a card. Originally there was a sleigh and reindeer too. Only this figure now remains minus a leg #christmas

I can never understand, why our small town has traffic jams almost as bad as most cities. What's normally a 5 minute drive to my local Sainsbury's took almost 40 minutes this morning. I just wish the council would listen to real people. When they tell them the traffic improvements won't work.

On Armistice Day I always think of my great grandfather. To escape poverty. He lied about his age and joined the Royal Marines as a gunner. At aged 16 he took part in the Relief of Peking. He was recalled from naval reserve to serve in WW1 and was a warden in WW2. #familyhistory #history
