I miss being part of a specific community but sadly there is no "jaqueline of a all trades" community is there..

I remain deeply fascinated by software running for decades continuously and change over the years. I might actually at this point learn #cobol. I'm however still wondering if "omg there's sooo much cobol still running" is true for the EU - counter checking on e.g. job sites doesn't yield much.

16 clusters rolled out. rebuild, refactored, remade everything new, ported everything, made an entire new platform the last couple of months. now I can roll out an "Observability Island" as I like to call them within 3 hours from zero to data ingestion.. 🥳

(excellent talk about #clickhouse for #observability at FOSDEM just now, I'm a very happy user of basically precisely this)

I think I'm going to focus next year on #observability in context of better debugging and improving finding problems and testing more in the sense of probing. I really enjoy (well maybe "enjoy" is the wrong word haha) a little high speed debugging during incidents here and there.

finishing "wool" (the book the tv series "silo" is based on) and really enjoyed both - the tv series really filled in the visuals of the book (so to speak) very nicely. (also has anybody noticed how the "wool" theme is picked up in the actual clothing in silo...)
