This gets at something I had trouble expressing about where I think Mastodon and the AP-verse has struggled and why I'm optimistic about the Atmosphere. Ten years in and it's still dominated by Mastodon and microblogging. Meanwhile, AT is a couple years in to an explosion of new apps, tools, etc.

I have a Gem called Facthole that will wreck anything I put in it. My system-level instructions tell the LLM to challenge and push back. The default obsequiousness is not good but leaving it that way is a choice and no one using these tools seriously leaves it in a default state.

I think Google has the right idea with Gemini/NotebookLM. I get as much value out of AI as the person running 500 agents full-tilt 24/7, but without, you know...that. It's also real value added over SOTA models that will survive when local hits the right notes and SOTA stops meaning as much.
