Wonderful to join Steilacoom tribal members and Town folks for the waking of the Totem ceremony yesterday at the sign unveiling of the Steilacoom Cultural Center. I toiled and delivered near $1.4m in capital resources which is the bulk of the project. Proud to serve the 28!

16m children are about to go hungry. If you can't agree on anything else, doing a stand alone bill to extend SNAP benefits is the moral thing to do. In WA, 930K of Washingtonians are on SNAP and thousands upon thousands are children. SNAP is the front line of defense against poverty. 1/3

Good to attend the South Sound Affordability Housing Partnership (SSAHP) meeting in DuPont as they discussed legislative priorities. This group has reps from electeds from various Pierce County cities with a mission to have a regional approach to housing matters. Each partner pays to participate.

Always great to meet with the formidable Dr. Zhou, President of Bates College, to listen and learn the challenges as they toil to train the workers of today and tomorrow and meet industry needs.

I wore my yellow ribbon hostage pin last week to remember the hostages and hold them close as I have hope for their rapid release. Today may be a very wonderful moment. #bringthemhome
