It's kinda funny how this has four COMPLETELY different functions in the Paper Mario series. -In the first three games, it restores 50 HP -In Sticker Star, it gradually revives HP (like the Slow Shroom) -In Color Splash, it restores paint in battle -In TOK, it revives you (like the Life Shroom)

I often find that I prefer games that are flawed in ways, but also excellent in other ways, over ones that are just merely good all around.

Please? Can we have this mentality again, PLEASE???? We're far better than this.

If there's one potential fear I have for Mario RPGs moving forward, it's that they may try to prioritize one series over the other. Both Paper Mario and Mario & Luigi bring unique things to the Mario RPG landscape, and as such, they both should continue to co-exist.

Just out of curiosity, who else knew about the existence of this enemy in Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time? No, I'm not talking about the full sarcophagus-themed enemy. You see plenty of those during a certain section of the game. I'm talking about this pharaoh-themed Snifit fighting all by itself.

In Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story, Mario and Luigi's level-up stat gains are bizarrely based on what level Bowser is currently at. If he is at a "good" level, they will be several times more powerful. The game does not tell you which levels are good and which are bad.

Honestly, despite how divisive the Mario RPGs have proven themselves to be in recent years, I personally think Sticker Star is the only straight-up bad one. The rest are okay at worst, in my opinion.

Here's a random Mario RPG tier list that I made a few months ago. There are a few I haven't played, which is why they aren't included.

I kind of wonder when we can expect to see the next Paper Mario game. The series has pretty consistently had 4 years between entries, which would suggest 2028. However, since the last one was a remake, maybe a bit earlier, such as 2027 could be a possibility?

If your personal “game of the year” didn’t make it on some game award show it really doesn’t matter. You can still love that game & play it repeatedly. Don’t let anyone/anything get in the way of that over arbitrary award shows. Award shows to me are just popularity contests.

Brothership was good, screw the haters

Good grief, I'd hoped this kind of crap had passed by now...

Quick rant incoming. It gets me pretty peeved every time I see someone say that Brothership shouldn't exist, or that the Mario & Luigi series should've died with AlphaDream. Sure, maybe you're not a huge fan of Brothership, but that's not a good reason to stomp all over other people's enjoyment.

Casual reminder that every self-respecting classic Paper Mario fan should give this game a try.

Mario & Luigi: Brothership is now celebrating its first anniversary. Not only did it mark the return of one of my favorite series, but I believe it to be a truly great game at its core, even if a little rough around the edges in some areas. Here's hoping the series continues strong in the future.

You know, something I've seen a lot that kind of gets on my nerves is people using the affordable prices of Silksong and other indie games as a weapon. "This costs 3 and a half Silksongs, so it's clearly garbage and there's no way it could be worth it." Just give it a rest already.
