Howie passed away peacefully, with dignity, and in comfort. I hope that our message continues to resonate with the world. Crabs are sentient and feel pain. Never boil crabs or any animal alive. Howie was old, and this was the natural end to her extraordinarily long life.

I've been missing Howie eating like this. This was last year. I'm hoping she'll start eating against this week so I don't worry as much. If you missed our post yesterday, Howie's eating has slowed down to a crawl. All of which is normal for her impending molt this spring. #howiethecrab

We're back from our two week break. Howie is beginning to snub her favorite foods. She does this while she's trying to kick pre-molt into gear. I'm still estimating that her molt will be in May (about 11 months from her previous molt.)

Maybe this is just where I'll drop pictures for now.

I'll be honest...Howie eats better than me 🤭 Chopped dates on a bed of kale with, banana, carrot, apple, and thin sliced persimmon. Many people ask if she eats all that. She doesn't. I like to give her variety and choice. Whatever she doesn't eat, I take out before her next meal. She grazes all day.

Howie is really old, like 150 in crab years, but she'd beat Jake Paul in a boxing match. She pinches below the belt 🤣 #howiethecrab #jakepaul
