30 years since Adrenaline, the first album by Deftones was released. It's so raw and aggressive, but it's a pretty underrated first step in their discography. It's awesome to hear the band still playing old tracks like "7 Words" and "Engine No. 9" live. Jamming this hard today. #NowPlaying

Hot take: the monetization for the Virtual Boy stuff 110% ruins what should otherwise be something worth praising - a game company refusing to bury their missteps and instead allowing people to experience them in all their terrible glory. History won't forget those failures. Neither should Nintendo.

Deftones were great live as always, but big props to Idles, who opened for Deftones last night. Incredible performance and the passionate pro-immigration speech from Talbot really resonated with the crowd, especially in such a red state like Missouri. They really blew me away.

You know when you get lost in a giant game world and you stumble into an area that just kicks your ass over and over, but you're not even sure you're supposed to access that area yet? It's a freeing feeling that I really appreciate. On an unrelated note, I played more Hollow Knight: Silksong today.

I have very mixed feelings on this game's announcement and seeing Kodaka involved even in just a supervisory role makes my thoughts even more complicated.

It's gorgeous. Absolutely gorgeous.

Randomly thought about the game Pyre today. It seems to be the least celebrated of Supergiant Games' work, which really sucks, because it's a powerful experience. We all talk about games where "your choices matter", but Pyre really personalizes every piece of those decisions. They're YOUR choices.

At one point, I would get embarrassed when game developers referred to my videos when designing their games, but eventually, I just said "Screw it. It's actually really cool that they enjoyed my work that much." No point in feeling bashful or unqualified at this point. 😋

Tom's already mastered this poetic, diary-style video format that he's presented in his past works, but there's something about Boku no Natsuyasumi 2 that makes it the perfect game to present in this format. Send him and his channel some love.

Metroid Other M is a very interesting game, because you clearly see what the series could've become if Retro Studios weren't involved. That alone makes it worthy of discussion when looking at its place in the series. It's no "misunderstood masterpiece" but it's so far from some cataclysmic failure.

To be honest, I didn't expect the release date to be quite this soon. It's gonna be a while, but time to get to work on this video too.

Layoffs in the industry are already frustrating to hear about, but Giant Squid firing their environmental artist is just so bad, man. Just look at Sword of the Sea. That looks to be the work of a person that any sensible management would be scrambling to keep on board. God damn.

It sucks that the video game industry has put so much development time and resources into remaking games, when I'd imagine that simply porting older games to new hardware (maybe with some higher-end graphics and control options) is likely much cheaper and just as sufficient for the target audience.

This is easily Aaraf's best work yet. Whether you like anachronistic fiction, political commentary, or the strange limbo between them where Assassin's Creed III sits, definitely give this video a watch. Loved the whole production.
