Part of ethnically cleansing a population is cleansing the language used to describe it. That it's so common now doesn't make it any less obscene. Those who produce and approve such copy should be ashamed of themselves, but that's likely a capacity they drowned a long while ago.

Hend is right. I warned of war crimes early on but it took me way to long to accept the fact that a genocide is unfolding in front of our eyes. Raz Segal was right in his op ed, written only days after Oct 7, that Israel's retaliation campaign against Gaza was becoming a "textbook case of genocide"

Sudanese journalist Yousra El Bagir has managed to get some footage out of Al Fashir in Darfur, Sudan. The RSF siege of the city has cut it off from food supply and medical assistance for months. One reason you hear very little about Sudan is that the RSF kills anyone who tries to document the war.
