I just end up increasingly more and more stressed, because now I'm several times over the 5 minute deadline to fix it, making it harder to focus on the fix. So please, if you think about saying this, don't. It does more harm than good - problems are often more complex than they seem on the surface.

"It just takes 5 minutes to fix this, why haven't you done it already?" is one of the most motivation and sanity draining things I hear some people say. So many times I would get into seemingly quick fix, only to spend hours going down a complex rabbit hole. (continuing)

i was bored a week ago or so and hooked up pemas EpicFixShader to asset load to see what would happen (and hooked up a familiar loading screen by loading a bundle from an old VRC mod git repo at runtime :)) github.com/pema99/EpicF...

tossed this on git and threw the link at a few games which could maybe use it tiara had it implemented in poligon in a few days i think it is really cool code i wrote is now running in 2 social VR games (and possibly another system i wrote in a VR furry porn game lol) i like making cool things :D

just finished moving, new place is kind of depressing (but should be temporary) not sure how this will affect my availability just yet- but i’m considering taking a week or two to just binge anime or something instead of throwing my time at code my new setup is kind of eh to work with anyways

i made a mod which shaves off 5s~ from startup left is fast startup mod / right is skip intro mod it’s not really noticeable though cause melonloader (without any mods) adds 15s to startup >:( (i trimmed out melonloader)

im now testing a very hacky distance hider it takes the bounds and associates them with parts of the prop (root/subsyncs) and when showing again ticks the animators, particles, and audio forward by the disabled time its a hack because i cant toggle the gameobjects, otherwise animator will rebind..

i am now back to work so no more free time to waste >:(

i’ve been kind of sporadic and doing random projects recently instead of focusing on anything that makes sense… i replicated vrcs contacts feature-wise ? (+ some old cannys i made long ago) after hearing for the 100th time cvr pointers and triggers are slow and people compare the two systems :)

Spent the last week making a mod to improve prop management. #chilloutvr - prop list & session history - select props (menu open) for info and quick actions - undo/redo + sfx - spawn placement visual Using features of UILib which were broken (no one used them) so cant release until a CVR hotfix.

Made a #chilloutvr mod to have something like the Garry’s Mod earpiece grab animation while typing in Desktop. When zooming it’ll also cup the hands around the eyes. Was thinking it may be fun to have the eyes covered by my hands when tabbed out too lmao.

Ordered a new drive which shipped overnight while brother prep a recovery disk after this so was up and running again earlier today once the drive arrived. Boot drive was dead and one ram stick is somehow cooked. Lost bunch of important stuff but luckily not my CVR Unity projects.

My PC blue screened again and refuses to boot now :D Suspecting dead boot drive after attempting to diagnose all other hardware. Don’t have anything on hand to continue so now stuck waiting for stuff to ship to me. My 2026 has gotten to a great start.

I spent the last weekish spending my PTO moving the client into its own assembly just to scrap it.. aaaa I had to start over a few times cause I’d cook the commit history as well as needed to build a tool to stub out the shit ton of thirdparty stuff.. Such a waste. Easy enough to do again if need.

New Years was pretty fun. Two trolls would pop in every 30 min and orbit the one red plate- so someone suggested we just make everyone red for the next time they popped in lmao. Somehow I managed to FBT and stand for a bit on my sprain too. Absolutely was a bad idea but I did it anyways :D

another absolutely core functionality being wired up right now- serializing unity events :D this was pretty jank to do but only required changes to script building side, as the events are fired from the vm directly in my test i am serializing a UnityEvent which is invoked in my OnDisable method

Trialing another usecase for the clone system. It’s so useless yet so cool. While making this i found many incredibly disgusting ugc setups that would break it… ugc is so fun to build for :D

After binding this I found out it was fucked and only worked in range of lights or in additional cameras in scene. Turns out its a conflict with the local avatar head hiding system I built. The avatar you see in first person is actually a clone and the original wont run skinning unless rendering.

seeing all these interactions i put together functioning all at the same time is just so cool to me - local avatar mirror in wasm - aiming held pickups while mouse unlocked (was mod) - seeing held/attached props on local avatar mirror (was mod) - eye tracking override while mouse unlocked (was mod)

actually probably the coolest part is that functionality is all built into a content cloning system i made i have the ability to make as many clones of avatars/props i want and place them wherever i want i made this so i can try exposing it to wasm for portals and other neat world gimmicks

harvested bits of several mods i’ve made in the past to make held/attached objects show as if they are part of you in cameras :D

i've been too busy to make new cool stuff so i guess i can show off the "hidden" functionality of CCK4s build pipeline :) been thinking about how to extend Test Mode for AASEmulator to be able to hook too #chilloutvr really wish i could just take a few weeks off work to get things done...

i have never used the index since and any future desire for a basestation tracked HMD demolished reprojection taking into account position is absolutely fucked and i don’t understand how that’s acceptable- everything distant is so squishy and nauseating when i physically move at low FPS

I love the ChilloutVR account, because every time i touch it i’m yelled by Luc & Kafe to not do anything crazy with it lmao. Its guid is “SYSTEM” which is obviously not valid- so the concern is that the ChilloutVR account can break anything expecting an actual GUID.

We recently dusted off an old incomplete feature, fixed, and finished it, when touching the GS in our dev environment. Dynamic Plates allows the server to set and change nameplate rank info and color instead of it being hardcoded in the client. We immediately started seeing what it could do lol.

I started catching up on steam reviews and of all of them “this game is not a passionate dev project, you don't see devs in lobbys anymore, you barely barely see moderators which is a huge problem and as i hear the moderation is really bad and biased.” is the one that got under my skin the most.

The CCK Preview including this change has been released in the Nightly channel. There’s also a preview now in the build panel of your taken panoramic. I wish to expose more configuration for the taken panos at a later date, like the depth capture mode, or using an image captured in-client.
