Recipes for Resistance, the zine workshop led by Mariah-Rose Marie during our Drawn Together residency, centered recipes as vessels of memory and history. Through drawing, collage, and writing, participants created mini zines to share and remember 📓💌✂️

The BU Office for the Arts Sherman Gallery will be closed Friday, December 19th, through Monday, January 5th.

Inspired by the joy of communal meals, our Drawn Together collage workshop, led by Shaina Lu, brought people together through shared art-making ✂️ Participants created mini collage hotpots and contributed a collaged hotpot ingredient to a shared communal piece.

Looking back at last month’s Drawn Together residency launch, where Mariah-Rose Marie (@mariahrosemariee) led a beautiful cooking demo on kunde and the significance of black-eyed peas. We wrapped the demo with delicious tastings of kunde and sorrel! 🥘✨

Last Friday, we celebrated the opening of Routes & Roots, an exhibition that features 11 works by 8 BU students exploring cultural journeys. Stop by the Sherman Gallery located inside the BU Office for the Arts office in the GSU suite 201 to see all the amazing work in person 🖼️

For our November Arts Insiders event, we brought students to Mudflat Pottery School in Somerville! We had a special guest, President Gilliam, join BU students in learning to use the pottery wheel.
